Genesis 16:2, : "And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai."
The
Lord will provide us what we need. We need only to wait on Him. And if
we need the wherewithal to wait on Him, He shall indeed provide that as
well. We can ask God to give us wisdom, strength, understanding, love,
etc. We can then encounter a situation wherein we expect to see such
things emerge from us. We can then become disappointed when we don't see
what we expect and then take matters into hand. Or we can say, "I have
asked God for these things, and I know He will provide. I will wait for
Him." When Abraham and Sarah did not see God's promise fulfilled, they
took matters into their own hands. We too face many situations wherein
we do the same. But through eyes of faith, we can ask God for the things
we know we need, knowing God is faithful. And so we ask. And we wait.
And when a situation arises, we can say, "God has already provided, I'm
just allowing Him to do so in His time, and without interference from
me."
